We collaborate with our partners, Dealerships and Titling Services, to provide additional options to Connecticut residents who have  purchased a vehicle from a private owner.

Dealerships can process passenger plates, vessels, combination plates, or commercial plates up to 73,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating.

The DMV continues to offer registration services and provides customers with an alternate option.

Registration services offered by the dealership listed below require two checks. One is for the registration transaction, which is processed through the DMV’s online system, and the second is forwarded by the dealership to the Connecticut DMV to pay the sales tax. These checks are necessary because the dealership doesn’t collect the sales tax through their automated system.

Please note that every dealership will have different times, service options, and service fees. Contact the dealerships/titling services listed below for appointment information.

DEALERSHIPS SHOULDN’T IMPOSE PROCESSING FEES IN EXCESS OF $25. 

Don’t complete your registration transaction with any dealership charging more than $25, and immediately notify the DMV.

A HUB dealership receives approval from the DMV and Connecticut Automobile Retailers Association (CARA)to process transactions for other Connecticut dealerships who haven’t utilized the online system. View the list of HUB dealerships.
