Who is eligible
Connecticut residents who are blind, disabled, qualifying veterans, or guardian to a disabled person, and non-residents under qualifying conditions, can request an accessibility parking permit online. You can request a renewal of an accessibility parking permit up to 6 months prior to its expiration and within 60 days after its expiration. Temporary permits cannot be renewed.

How to
You will need:
- Your first and last name
- Your date of birth
- Your address
- Your Connecticut driver’s license or non-driver ID number unless you qualify for an exception. There may be reasons why an individual does not have, or cannot provide, a Connecticut license or ID number as required on the placard application (some examples listed below). An application with medical certification must still be submitted by every placard applicant.
- Certified blind (requires certification of legal blindness)
- Age 80 or older
- Severely disabled (for example, wheelchair bound)
- Unable to get documents required to obtain a driver license or non-driver ID
- Out-of-state resident injured while in Connecticut
- Your Social Security number (optional)
- A credit or debit card (for temporary permit transactions only)
- A valid email address or mobile phone number
- Completed and signed permit application (Renewable Permit Application Form or Temporary Permit Application Form)
- Certification from a medical professional or qualifying veteran exemption documentation
- Legal guardianship paperwork
- Proof of date of birth of disabled person
