Connecticut Mobile ID Arrives November 18

Connecticut Mobile ID is a secure digital version of your driver's license, learner's permit, or state ID that you can safely store on your smartphone for convenient, contactless identity verification. The free, optional Connecticut Mobile ID app gives residents another convenient way to verify their identity while keeping their physical ID.

Mobile ID:

is designed to complement, not replace a physical driver’s license or identification card. Residents should continue to carry their physical credential.
cannot be used for voting.
is not accepted by law enforcement as a substitute for your physical credential.

Mobile ID makes carrying and using your ID easier than ever. Your ID is securely available on your smartphone, allowing you to quickly verify your identity when needed without searching for a physical card. Mobile ID provides a convenient way to access and share your identity information.

Secure

Mobile ID offers a more secure way to carry your identification than a traditional physical ID. Before your Mobile ID can be used, the app requires authentication using FaceID, TouchID, or your 6-digit PIN. This added layer of security helps ensure that only you can access and present your Mobile ID.

Private

Your privacy is protected. Your personal information is stored securely on your device – not within the Mobile ID app itself.
