Wrecker inspections

The CGS 14-66 statute indicates that only a Connecticut Licensed Dealer or Repairer (not recycler) can get a wrecker registration and plates. Please note this list changes on a weekly basis. However, before you can register a wrecker, it needs to pass an inspection at a DMV inspection lane. No appointment is needed and there is no inspection fee.

NOTE: No inspection is required for renewal of a wrecker registration.

All out-of-state wreckers require a VIN verification is performed during the wrecker inspection.
