Connecticut Emissions Testing Program update:

DMV's vehicle inspection vendor, Applus Technologies, detected and stopped a malware attack on March 30, 2021, which temporarily interrupted the process of conducting vehicle inspection and emissions testing. During this outage:

  • Customers will be able to register vehicles either by mail or online regardless of vehicle emissions test status. Emissions compliance will be verified after the system is restored.
  • Dealerships have the option to issue 30-day temporary registrations to customers who purchased vehicles at their business. Permanent registrations will be issued once the system is restored.
