The DMV’s staff is working diligently to reduce its backlog and to provide critical services to essential businesses. Transactions are being completed as quickly as possible, in the order in which they are received. The average turnaround time is approximately 20 business days. The DMV appreciates the public’s patience as it navigates through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Customers visiting the office can obtain:
  • All Vehicle and Boat Registration Services
  • Renewals of Driver Licenses ONLY - New (first-time) driver licenses and new endorsements must be processed at a DMV Hub officeHaz-Mat Endorsement renewals must be processed at a DMV Hub office.
  • Name changes on DMV documents 
  • Duplicates of DMV documents
  • Non-Driver ID Cards
  • Disabled Parking Permits
Dealers and Titling Service Companies may process transactions Tuesday through Friday up to 1:00 p.m.
Acceptable forms of payment are: cash, money orders, personal checks, bank checks, American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and most debit cards. Please make all checks payable to DMV.

Traveling Route 395 North:  Take exit 11.  Take a left at the end of the exit onto Route 82.  Go underneath the overpass.  At the second traffic light take a right into the State of Connecticut Complex.  Take the next right after the commuter parking lot and follow to the end.

Traveling Route 395 South:  Take exit 11.  Take a right at the end of the exit onto route 82.  At the first traffic light take a right into the State of Connecticut Complex.  Take the next right after the commuter parking lot and follow to the end.
