Motor Vehicle Operator's License Medical Advisory Board (MAB)
The DMV's Medical Advisory Board (MAB) is comprised of up to fifteen (15) medical professional members and their responsibility is to provide the Commissioner of DMV of their recommendation regarding medical-related aspects and concerns pertaining to licensed operators. 
The term "medical professionals" means a Connecticut licensed physician, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse or an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
MAB members are appointed by the DMV Commissioner and are required to meet at least annually but at times has met semi-annually.  MAB members serve without compensation but are reimbursed for any necessary services incurred in the performance of their official duties as a member.
The medical specialties that comprise the MAB are:
  1. General medicine or surgery
  2. Internal medicine
  3. Cardiovascular medicine
  4. Neurology or Neurological surgery
  5. Ophthalmology
  6. Orthopedics
  7. Psychiatry
  8. Occupational Medicine
