WINTER STORM UPDATES:

Governor Lamont has declared a State of Emergency due to the major winter storm that is expected to impact Connecticut beginning Sunday, January 25. Motorists are strongly advised to avoid all travel on Connecticut roads on Sunday and into at least Monday morning.

Commercial vehicles – such as permitted vehicles, trucks, RVs, tractor trailers, tankers, and vehicles with trailers – are prohibited from traveling on all limited access highways in Connecticut beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, and remaining in effect until further notice. [Read the order]

The US Postal Service (USPS) now postmarks mail at the time it gets sorted, not at the time it’s left at a USPS mailbox or picked up by a mail carrier. To ensure you meet ‘mail by’ deadlines, CTDOL recommends visiting the Post Office service desk to have your item postmarked the same day that it’s dropped off.
