2025 April Labor Report

CTDOL Releases the April Jobs Report

Today, Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) Commissioner Danté Bartolomeo released the April jobs report showing that employers added an estimated 6,900 jobs last month. The state’s unemployment rate remains very low at 3.7% after rising 0.1%. Private sector employment reached a new all-time high of 1,483,600. Total employment remains below March 2008 due to smaller federal, state, and local government.

CT Department of Labor Warns of Text Scams

CTDOL is warning residents of text scams that include links to fake webpages resembling CTDOL unemployment pages, including the unemployment benefits login page.

Additionally, the agency is reminding residents that receiving a 1099 tax form or a monetary determination letter may indicate that criminals are using your identity to try to claim unemployment benefits.
