Renderings of proposed station improvements

Beacon Falls will receive a new station built on the existing site. Today, the station consists of a small low-level platform, a parking area, and limited amenities. Located across the Naugatuck River from downtown and the Naugatuck River Greenway, it is not well connected to the surrounding community and does not serve riders with mobility needs.

Funded through the U.S. DOT's All Station Accessibility Program and state matching funds, the project will add a new 350-foot platform beginning near the current southern end and extending north along the parking area. The platform will be covered and enclosed with a wraparound windscreen, and will include real time arrival information, ticket vending, and an improved waiting area. The station will be fully ADA compliant, with new wayfinding signage and design features that better define the station and strengthen connections to nearby businesses, homes, and natural amenities.
