Located between the Naugatuck River and downtown, the existing Ansonia station sits near restaurants and businesses, housing, and a major industrial development site. The new station will be constructed at the current site, replacing the existing bus-shelter style waiting areas and short canopy.
The Ansonia Station will receive a new 350-foot platform extending from the southern end near the flood wall gate north to the Maple Street Bridge. The platform will be covered and enclosed with a wraparound windscreen, and will feature real time arrival information, ticket vending, and an improved waiting area. The station will be fully ADA compliant, with new landscaping and wayfinding to create a safer and more welcoming passenger experience.
