(Hartford, CT) – Today, Connecticut Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner Mark Polzella, Governor Ned Lamont, Hartford Athletic Vice President of Business Development Rashad Hyacenth, and state and local officials kicked off the 5th annual Hiring Expo at Hartford’s Trinity Health Stadium. The job fair has approximately 50 employers recruiting for jobs across most career levels and industry sectors. More than 1,000 job seekers were pre-registered to attend.
CT Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner Mark Polzella said, “Finding a job is hard work; with employers relying on software to screen candidates, it’s also tough to know if your resume was even evaluated by a human. The Hiring Expo brings companies and job seekers together—it helps candidates get seen and it helps employers get eyes on their job listings. I want to thank the Hartford Athletic soccer team and other sponsors and participants for hosting us all today.”
Governor Ned Lamont said, “This expo is a great opportunity for both Connecticut jobseekers and employers to get connected to new opportunities. Connecticut businesses have tens of thousands of jobs available across industries and at all career levels, and expos like this helps businesses match these job openings with candidates.”
Participating companies represent industries throughout the state including finance, technology, manufacturing, defense, education, hospitality, construction, and healthcare.
Chairman Bruce Mandell said, “It’s an honor to host our fifth annual Hiring Expo alongside the Connecticut Department of Labor. At Hartford Athletic, we're dedicated to creating meaningful change by building a strong, thriving community and opening doors to opportunity. We’re proud to stand with Hartford and support individuals as they take the next step toward their future."
The Hiring Expo runs until 2 p.m., registration is not required. All job seekers in attendance will receive a special discount on remaining Hartford Athletic home matches this season. Major Hiring Expo sponsors include the Connecticut Department of Transportation; Eversource; Stanley Black & Decker; USA Recycling; Global Atlantic Financial Group; Right at Home; Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling; and Braman Termite & Pest Elimination.
