(Wethersfield, CT) – Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) Commissioner Danté Bartolomeo announced that 1,500 job seekers attended the statewide job fair held today at Central Connecticut State University. More than 70 employers that are hiring mid- to high-level workers participated including state agencies, municipalities, law enforcement, manufacturing, IT, and financial services.
Commissioner Bartolomeo said, “A big thank you to all the employers who participated today—especially those who stayed later due to high demand—and all the job seekers who turned out to meet them. We had record high attendance at this event, it speaks to how active Connecticut’s job market is. Employers are recruiting and there are opportunities for workers at all career levels. I also want to thank DAS Commissioner Gilman and President Toro for their work to make this event a success.”
Since April 1, 2025, CTDOL has hosted more than 20 job fairs and recruitment events for workers at all career levels. Upcoming job fairs include the Bridgeport American Job Center on June 18th; the United Way in New Haven on June 25th; and the Waterbury American Job Center on June 26th. Job seekers are required to register prior to attending; information is available on the CTDOL website.
At agency job fairs, CTDOL works directly with employers to ensure that they are employers in good standing and are hiring for jobs that are immediately available. Job seekers are urged to bring copies of their resumes to job fairs, dress for success, and be prepared to speak with employers who are conducting on-site interviews. Prior to attending a job fair, residents may get free resume writing assistance and other career services virtually or in person by appointment at the American Job Centers.
