CT Department of Labor: Hartford Athletic 4th Annual Hiring Expo Draws More Than 700 Job Seekers

9/17/2024

(Hartford, CT) – Today, Connecticut Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner Mark Polzella, Governor Ned Lamont, Hartford Athletic Chairman Bruce Mandell, and state and local officials kicked off the 4th annual Hiring Expo at Hartford’s Trinity Health Stadium. The job fair has more than 80 employers recruiting for jobs across most career levels and industry sectors. More than 700 job seekers were pre-registered to attend.

CT Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner Mark Polzella said, “With unemployment at historic lows, employers are working hard to find the talent to help them grow and compete. Establishing people-to-people connections between job seekers and employers is a great first step. I want to thank Chairman Mandell, the Hartford Athletic soccer team, and other sponsors and participants for getting us all together today.”

Governor Ned Lamont said, “The Hiring Expo is a great opportunity for both job seekers and employers. Connecticut businesses have tens of thousands of jobs available across industries and at all career levels, today helps them to get those jobs right in front of potential candidates. I encourage anyone looking for a job, or a better job, to come out today, and don’t forget to visit the State of Connecticut table.”

Participating companies represent industries throughout the state including finance, technology, manufacturing, defense, education, hospitality, construction, and healthcare.

Chairman Bruce Mandell said, “We’re excited to host our fourth annual Hiring Expo in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Labor. At Hartford Athletic, we’re committed to making a lasting impact by fostering a thriving community and creating pathways to success. We’re proud to be part of this community and helping people to take the next step in their careers.”

The Hiring Expo runs until 2 p.m., registration is not required. All job seekers in attendance will receive a special discount on any of Hartford Athletic's remaining home matches this season. Major Hiring Expo sponsors include the Connecticut Department of Transportation; Eversource; Stanley Black & Decker; USA Recycling; Global Atlantic Financial Group; Right at Home; Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling; and Braman Termite & Pest Elimination.
