How to get prequalified as a contractor

Is your company interested in placing a bid on a public construction contract in the state of Connecticut? The state’s Construction Contractor Prequalification Program requires all contractors to prequalify before bidding on a state contract estimated to cost more than $1,000,000.

Learn more about prequalifying as a construction contractor with the DAS. We are here to help you navigate the process with information and resources.

We are excited that a new Construction Contractor Prequalification process is here

Our new Construction Contractor Prequalification application on CT Gateway has launched! We are excited about this new phase which features a mobile-friendly application with greater accessibility for contractors seeking to engage in significant state or municipal construction projects.

The Biznet Construction Contractor Prequalification application will be permanently closed in tandem with the rollout on CT Gateway.

How do I access my account on CT Gateway?

If your company is currently prequalified or has been in the past, or if you started an application in the past 6 months, your account has been moved to CT Gateway. Visit CT Gateway and click on “Reset Password.” You will receive an email with a password reset link. Set up a new password and log in. If you have not been certified, visit CT Gateway and click on “Register” to create a new account.

I’ve logged in. What now?

On your dashboard, click on Contractor Prequalification Application to access your current application or create a new one. We offered a full training on how to complete your application on CT Gateway. It is available on the CT Gateway login page.

Will my current and past certifications be available on CT Gateway?

All certification history will be available on CT Gateway. If your company has ever been certified, your account will automatically be moved to the new system.

You do not need to have DAS prequalification if the contract is over $500,000 but under $1,000,000. However, you may be required to provide additional information with your bid. This could include:
