The application fee is dictated by statute and calculated based on the company’s Aggregate Work Capacity (AWC). The AWC is the dollar amount of work a company can cover per the bonding company’s assessment of the company’s financials and assets.
The fee covers the review of the application and is non-refundable. The renewal fee is one-half (1/2) of the initial application fee. To be eligible for the renewal fee, applicants must submit application within the 90-day period before expiration. Pay the fee with American Express, MasterCard, or Visa on the application portal, CT Gateway.
During the prequalification period, companies can:
- Increase their AWC at any time and the additional fee will be prorated
- Add classifications at no additional cost; evaluation requirements apply. See Classification Requirements for details
