School construction grant - plan review 101

DAS Plan Review has developed plan approval requirements to help ensure projects meet the eligibility criteria of the Public School Building Projects Grant program.

Districts should schedule a Design Conference with the state once they have defined a project concept and selected a design firm – ideally prior to, or shortly after, submitting a grant application. To schedule, contact DAS.planreviewschools@ct.gov. During the conference, the program requirements for plan approval will be reviewed and next steps will be outlined.

A full set of resources is available to help determine eligibility during the planning and construction of school projects, including:

  • Checklists
  • Documents and forms
  • Bulletins, memorandums, and notices
  • Guidelines and standards
  • Laws, statutes, and regulations
  • Template letters, policies, reports, and other related resources
