Thursday was a big day for DAS as we hosted our CT Digital Government Summit.
Governor Ned Lamont welcomed over 350 people to the event along with DAS Commissioner Michelle Gilman and CIO Mark Raymond.
All three speakers highlighted the importance of cybersecurity and advancing all aspects of digital government, not only within state government but, to the residents of Connecticut.
Heather Younger, Founder and CEO of Employee Fanatix, was the keynote speaker who brought revealing insights to the stage from over 25,000 employee experiences. A diversity, equity, and inclusion strategist, and the world’s leading expert on listening at work, she is the host of the Leadership with Heart Podcast.
Afterward, the attendees participated in break-out sessions on AI in Government, the Cloud, User Experience, and Cybersecurity.
Over lunch, Raymond hosted a fascinating “fireside chat” with State Senator James Maroney (D-Milford), discussing the intersection of policy and artificial intelligence.
The afternoon included break-out sessions on cybersecurity, data-driven decision-making, and digital transformation.
The event concluded with an interactive presentation by the innovation and technology strategist, speaker, author, and consultant Jack Shaw, who discussed the next steps in the digital transformation.
In addition to Gilman and Raymond, our DAS colleagues Jeff Corriveau, Max Gigle, David Labbadia, Jeff Brown, Kevin Gravel, and Voytek Szaro also lent their expertise in panel discussions.
In addition to serving as presenters, the DAS team, in partnership with the team at e.Republic, the parent company of Government Technology Magazine, was heavily involved in the planning process, with several staff members serving on the event’s advisory board.
