Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Michelle Gilman was selected this week by her colleagues to serve as treasurer of the National Association of State Chief Administrators (NASCA)'s executive committee. Dedicated to engaging states in transforming government operations through the power of shared knowledge, operational excellence, and thought leadership, the treasurer's role puts Commissioner Gilman in a position to work more closely with peers from around the country.
"This is a great opportunity for Connecticut," Commissioner Gilman said. "By serving as an officer of a well-run national organization like NASCA, I will have a unique opportunity to learn from my colleagues from nearly every state. I look forward to serving in this new role and bringing valuable lessons back to my work at DAS."
In the role, Commissioner Gilman is in line to work closely with Kansas Department of Administration Secretary Adam Proffitt, who was recently selected as NASCA president following a stint as treasurer. In 2024, Commissioner Gilman served as an alternate on the NASCA executive committee.
Commissioner Gilman expressed gratitude to the executive committee members for their confidence in her and looks forward to working closely with Secretary Proffitt and the executive committee.
