Sustaining Technology Investments
As schools, universities, and libraries leverage digital tools and networks for learning, maintaining those investments has become a top priority for institutions. The Commission supports efforts to sustain technology through research, engagement with software and hardware providers, and facilitating collective action among institutional leaders. The initiatives and resources below align with State Educational Technology Plan Goal 4.
Current Initiatives
- Student Information Systems (spring 2026): This request for proposal (RFP) seeks to provide competitive, transparent pricing schedules for schools, which collectively spend more than $10M annually for this core service. Requirements are available by searching for solicitation 25PSX0293 in CT Source, the State bid board.
- Staff and Student Computers (spring 2026): Schools statewide have committed to the purchase and use of student and staff computers for learning. To provide leaders with a clear schedule of hardware, support, and peripheral costs, Connecticut Administrative Services plans a "reverse auction" in March 2026. The resulting commitments from hardware manufacturers will post to CT Source in April 2026.
