Your first benefit payment
Most people receive their first payment 1-2 weeks after they file their first unemployment claim.
If you have a bank account, please choose to have your payments sent directly to your account. It's a quick and safe way to receive benefit payments. You may also choose to get your payments on a debit card. If you don’t choose how you want to receive unemployment benefits, you will receive a debit card.
