Unemployment insurance

Unemployment insurance provides temporary income for unemployed workers. It supports fully- and partially unemployed workers as they look for new jobs, participate in approved training, or wait to be called back to work.

Funding for unemployment insurance benefits comes from employer taxes – workers do not pay any of the costs.

Employers are legally required to provide an unemployment notice, commonly known as a “pink slip.” If you have been laid off or furloughed, use the information on this form to apply for unemployment benefits.
