Contact an American Job Center near you and say you are interested in participating the WIOA program. Information about how to get started, such as attending an orientation session, will be provided. Staff will explain other important details about job skills in demand, any low-income criteria, youth eligibility, and dislocated worker criteria for those who have been laid off or have received a layoff notice. Career services that may be available include job search assistance, job market information, job readiness, career planning and counseling, programs for non-English speakers, individual employment planning, financial aid information, supportive services, follow up services, and more. Services may vary by area. WIOA funds for training are limited and, even if you are eligible, training funds are not guaranteed. New funds may be issued each year.
