National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is observed each October to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities and educate the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents. The Department of Administrative Services is proud to support NDEAM and is committed to having an inclusive workplace of all protected groups, including persons with disabilities. This year’s theme is “The Right Talent, Right Now”.
As part of the DAS’ commitment to the important role that persons with disabilities play in the workforce, the DAS EEO Unit is observing and celebrating NDEAM by participating in several events around the State including: DiverseAbility Career Fair at Yale University on October 23, 2019; 7th Annual Disability Resource Fair at the NEAT Center on October 25, 2019; and the New Britain Community Services Department and the Commission on Persons with Disabilities Annual National Disability Employment Awareness Month Meeting with New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart. During these events, the DAS EEO office will be sharing their knowledge of the various possibilities and benefits working for the State of Connecticut.
