Overview

The Division of Regulatory Compliance in the Real Estate and Construction Services Division of the Department of Administrative Services leads on the development of, compliance with and education on the following safety Connecticut codes:

• State Building Code
• State Fire Safety Code
• State Fire Prevention Code
• Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators
• Safety Code for Boilers and Hot Water Heaters
• State Demolition Code
• Operators of Cranes or Hoisting Equipment

 The division is organized into three offices:

• Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM)
• Office of the State Building Inspector (OSBI)
• Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM)

The team works in collaboration with the following committees, boards and councils:

• Codes and Standards Committee
  • Codes Amendment Subcommittee
• Fire Prevention Code Advisory Committee
• Code Training and Education Fund Board of Control
• Building Code Training Council
• Fire Marshal Training Council
