Engineering Opportunities

CTDOT offers a variety of transportation-related career opportunities for engineers in our Offices of Engineering and Construction, including traffic engineering, transportation design, and construction. Opportunities also exist in our Bureau of Policy & Planning and Bureau of Public Transportation.

Transportation Engineer Trainee

Transportation Engineer Trainee level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college or university. After successful completion of a one (1) year training program, you will be promoted Transportation Engineer 1 and after successful completion of two (2) years as a Transportation Engineer 1, you will be promoted to Transportation Engineer 2

Transportation Engineer 1 or 2

Transportation Engineer 1 or 2 levels require a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college or university is required, along with industry work experience.
