The Field Audit Unit is responsible for conducting field audits in conjunction with and supplemental to employer liability investigations, Unemployment Compensation benefit investigations, and other field investigations to insure an equitable tax program.
They respond to inquiries related to:
- Definition of wages.
- Definition of an employee.
- General questions of U.C. tax law.
- Selecting employers for audit
- Auditing employer records.
- Handling appeals.
- Handling blocked Unemployment Insurance claims.
- An Employer's Guide to Unemployment Insurance Tax Audits.
