Get help with your unemployment claim appeal

We understand why you may want help! Although witnesses and written proof are the most important part of your appeal, you can bring a lawyer or other professional to the hearing.

Free and low-cost hearing representatives: Review this list and contact an unemployment specialist for help. If you hire a someone, you are responsible for paying their fee. Ask the Appeals Division about the fee they may charge.

If you are being represented for another legal dispute with the same employer, such as a workers’ compensation or discrimination case, you should tell your representative about your unemployment claim. Although an unemployment compensation decision cannot be used against you in any other case, what happens in your unemployment appeal may affect other disputes with your employer.
