Wages (Chapter 558) or Employment Regulation, State Contracts (Part III of Chapter 557)

Connecticut General Statutes Section 31-69b(a) provides that “[a]n employer shall not discharge, discipline, penalize or in any manner discriminate against any employee because the employee has filed a claim or instituted or caused to be instituted any investigation or proceeding under part III of chapter 557 or this chapter, or has testified or is about to testify in any such proceeding or because of the exercise by such employee on behalf of himself or others of any right afforded by part III of chapter 557 or this chapter.” 

Unemployment Compensation (Chapter 567)

Connecticut General Statutes Section 31-226a(a) provides that “[n]o employer shall discharge, discipline, penalize or in any manner discriminate against any employee because the employee has filed a claim or instituted or caused to be instituted any proceeding under this chapter, or has testified or is about to testify in any such proceeding or because of the exercise by such employee on behalf of himself or others of any right afforded by this chapter.”

How to File a Wage or Unemployment Insurance Retaliation Complaint

Employees who believe their employer has discriminated or retaliated against them for making a wage complaint or filing for unemployment compensation may file a complaint with the Legal Division in any of the following ways:
