The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) administers all aspects of the credentialing exams for the Office of State Fire Marshal, including the tests for the pre-certification fire training program and the challenge exams offered each quarter.

Building Code Enforcement Officials and Fire Officials are required to earn continuing education credits to maintain their license or certification. The number of credits needed is based on the credential. All training cycles are three-years in length.

Code Training and Education Fund Board of Control
The Code Training and Education Board of Control approves the fiscal year budget of the Office of Education and Data Management OEDM), which carries out the credentialing functions of the Office of the State Building Inspector and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
