Welcome to the webpage for Project Nos. 0142-0157 & 0142-0158, Replacement of Bridge Nos. 06976 & 06977 Carrying Industrial Park Road West and Gerber Drive over Gages Brook in Tolland.
A virtual public information meeting for the projects will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed projects, gather feedback, and answer any questions.
The purpose of this project is to address the critical condition of the bridges by designing replacement structures that meet all current design standards and improve the safety of the crossings for all roadway users.
Right-of-way impacts are on five abutting private properties, which will consist of temporary construction easements for construction activities including access, traffic handling, water handling, excavation, removal of the existing bridge, and grading. All other impacts are on town-owned property.
Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permits. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $3 million for Bridge No. 06976 and $4 million for Bridge No. 06977. Funding for both projects are anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
