Traffic Signals

A traffic signal gives instruction to drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists as to who has the right-of-way at an intersection. In Connecticut, traffic signals are owned and maintained by either CTDOT or a town/city.

Requests for new or revised traffic signals should begin with the Local Traffic Authority.

Information on traffic signal designs in Connecticut can be found in the Traffic Control Signal Design Manual (ct.gov)
