Traffic Signal Cameras - Although they may look like regular cameras, they do not record any information. These cameras are using the latest technology to detect vehicles to change the traffic cycles or patterns in the lights. It is mainly just a motion detection camera. This helps reduce emissions and increase efficiency of the traffic signal cycles. For more information on our traffic lights and the work that goes into this project, visit our traffic signals page.

Wrong Way Detection Cameras – Wrong way detection cameras only record when an instance of wrong way driving occurs at one of the detection systems which is they relayed to police for further action. The camera does not offer a livestream or store information unless an event occurs which triggers the recording.

CTroads Traffic Cameras - the CTDOT’s traffic cameras are used for live monitoring of traffic and do not record. No traffic camera recordings are available for disclosure because no recordings exist.
