The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct an in-person public information meeting concerning the replacement of the bridge carrying Day Hill Road over Roaring Brook on Wednesday, January 28, at the Lyme Town Hall on 480 Hamburg Rd in Lyme at 6:30 p.m. The meeting location is ADA accessible.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. “The purpose of this project is to address the deterioration of the bridge by designing a new resilient replacement that meets all current design standards,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Hayley Martin. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
The right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements are on private property and will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, and water handling, and a slope easement.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2028 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $4 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
