Welcome to the webpage for Project 0074-0071, Replacement of Bridge No. 05818, Carrying Day Hill Road over Roaring Brook in Lyme. 

An in-person public informational meeting for the project will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.

The purpose of this project is to address the deterioration of the bridge by designing a new resilient replacement that meets all current design standards.

The right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements are on private property and will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, and water handling, and a slope easement.  

Construction is expected to start in 2028, depending on funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is approximately $4 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
