The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct an in-person public information meeting concerning lane reconfigurations on Route 32 at Old Norwich Road and State Route 693 on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Waterford Town Hall at 15 Rope Ferry Road in Waterford. A formal design presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. The meeting location is ADA accessible.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. For instructions on accessing the meeting and ways to provide comments and ask questions, please visit portal.ct.gov/DOTWaterford0152-0163.
“This project will reduce congestion and related crashes at this intersection by reconfiguring the lanes for additional capacity and upgrading the existing traffic signals,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Nicholas Ivanoff. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
Right-of-way impacts are limited to rights to reconstruct and grade residential driveways within the project limits.
Construction is anticipated to begin fall 2027 based on the availability of funding and approval of permits. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $11 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
Individuals who cannot attend the meeting may request that project information be mailed to them within one week by contacting Nicholas Ivanoff at or (860) 594-2597.
