Governor Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Department of Labor and the Connecticut Department of Education are training and preparing more teachers and paraprofessionals to help alleviate educator shortages.

As of March 2023 there were:

  • 5,330 educational services job ads in Connecticut
  • 1,300 paraeducator vacancies, nearly 75% in special education
  • 60% of the vacancies reported in the state’s Alliance Districts
