Questions about your eligibility
If we aren't sure you should receive unemployment benefits, we will notify you and schedule a "hearing by mail." We will ask you to answer and submit a questionnaire to a Department of Labor adjudicator. They will review the information and make a decision about your eligibility.
You may be asked about these issues and more:
- Your availability for work
- Whether you're making reasonable efforts to find work
- Refusing suitable work
- Refusing a rehire offer from your former employer (the employer will be given an opportunity to participate in the hearing)
If you are denied benefits, you have the right to appeal the decision.
