Unemployment benefits during a leave of absence
If you’re on a leave of absence from your employer, we will conduct a hearing by mail to decide whether you should receive benefits. You may be eligibile if you are:
- Able and available for full-time work, including a temporary job; and
- Physically unable to perform your normal job; and
- Physically capable of performing some other work and looking for work in that field.
You will not receive benefits if your leave of absence is voluntary and your regular job or other suitable work is available.
