Rescheduling an appeal hearing
If you know in advance that you cannot attend, call the Appeals Division immediately to reschedule it. The telephone number of the Appeals Division is printed at the top of the Notice of Hearing. Postponements are granted only for important reasons.
If something major happens at the last minute and you cannot attend a meeting, contact the Appeals Division as soon as possible before the hearing. Acceptable reasons include an accident, a sudden illness, and similar emergencies. You will need to provide proof, such as a police report or documents from a doctor or medical facility.
