The Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) has resources to help employers through a downturn. Companies experiencing a temporary downturn may be able to use Shared Work, a program that helps businesses prevent layoffs by allowing them to temporarily reduce employee hours and use partial unemployment benefits to supplement lost wages.

For employers facing layoffs, the CTDOL Rapid Response Team can assist.

Connecticut’s unemployment separation kit helps employees who are being laid off. Use it to provide the forms and information workers will need to file for unemployment benefits.
