Prevailing Wage: A Primer for Contractors & Demonstration on Certified Payroll

This free live webinar will provide an introduction on prevailing wage, as well as navigating a certified payroll in its entirety and calculating fringe benefit credits. Our speakers from the CT Dept of Labor include Mary Toner, Field Supervisor with the Wage & Workplace Standards Division, and Brendan Mahoney, Staff Attorney with the Legal Division, who will demonstrate how to complete a certified payroll in detail, as well as share insights and tips on maximizing fringe benefits. 

This seminar is beneficial for construction contractors who perform work on prevailing wage projects in the state of Connecticut, and any other employers who must complete a certified payroll. 

Topics will include: 
• Overview of the prevailing wage law
• What is required by law in completing a certified payroll
• The responsibility of contractors/subs in accurately completing and submitting certified payroll
• How to calculate health and welfare benefit credits 
• How to maximize pretax benefits for competitive bidding
