Connecting State Needs with Business Opportunities

The DAS Procurement Division manages most of the contracts that Connecticut state agencies rely on to purchase the products and services essential to their daily operations. These contracts cover everything from IT systems and public safety equipment to office supplies and construction services. By overseeing these contracts centrally, DAS ensures consistency, efficiency, and fairness across all state purchasing.

Working with the state

There’s a common myth that to work with the State, a business has to be “on a list.” That’s not true. DAS is committed to creating an open, competitive environment that encourages participation from both new and established vendors. This approach gives the State more choice and better value—while opening the door for businesses of all sizes to access real contracting opportunities.

Each solicitation is supported by a dedicated team that includes a member of the Business Access Team, whose role is to expand vendor outreach. They conduct research to identify potential suppliers and run targeted email campaigns designed to connect qualified businesses with upcoming opportunities.
