• List of Fire Marshals by Jurisdiction

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) maintains a list of Fire Marshals currently appointed to each jurisdiction. The list is in alphabetical order by the name of the municipality.

• Earn Continuing Education Credits from Outside Training Providers as a Building or Fire Official

  If you take a live or online class from a provider other than the Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM), it may count toward your three-year licensure and certification requirements.

• Joint Meetings of the Building Code and Fire Marshal Training Councils

  The Building Code Training Council and the Fire Marshal Training Council periodically meet to discuss training issue that are common to both Building Code Enforcement Officials and Fire Officials.

• Office of Education and Data Management Training for Design and Trades Professionals

  In an effort to cultivate professional relationships between code officials and members of the design and construction industries, and between building code enforcement officials, the Office of Education and Data.

  Check your current credits toward meeting your continuing education requirements for Building Official licensure and Fire Official certification.

• Pre-Approved Outside Credit Classes for Building and Fire Officials

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) pre-approves many continuing education trainings, delivered both live and online. Refer to the list to find a topic and date that works for you.

• Building Code Enforcement Officials Exam Schedules, Applications, Study Materials, and Testing Policies

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) administers all aspects of the credentialing exams for the Office of the State Building Inspector, including the tests for the Pre-Licensure Training Program and the licensure exams offered each quarter (Quarterly Exams).

• Building Code Training Council

  The Building Code Training Council is an advisory council to OEDM regarding training for building code enforcement officials.

• Audit Building and Fire Official Pre-Credential Training Programs for Continuing Education Credit

  For building code enforcement officials and fire officials who want to be retrained in a particular area, there are limited seats available in OEDM’s Pre-Licensure Training Program and Pre-Certification Training Program.

• Fire Marshal Training Council

  The Fire Marshal Training Council is an advisory council to OEDM regarding training for fire officials.

• Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) Online Training

  Starting in 2017, The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) will provide online code training for building and fire officials, and design and trades professionals. For individuals credentialed through OEDM, completion of our online training will count toward your continuing education credit hours.

• Fire Official Exam Schedules, Applications, Study Materials, and Testing Policies

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) administers all aspects of the credentialing exams for the Office of State Fire Marshal, including the tests for the pre-certification fire training program and the challenge exams offered each quarter.

• How to Become a Certified Fire Official

  To become a certified Fire Code Inspector or a certified Fire Investigator, you can either take a training course or take an examination.
