The Community Connectivity Grant Program (CCGP) was developed to provide funding for targeted infrastructure improvements that are commonly identified through RSA’s, or other transportation planning initiatives. The purpose of the CCGP is to provide funding directly to Municipalities to perform smaller scale infrastructure improvements that are aligned with the overall program goal, to make conditions safer and more accommodating for pedestrians and bicyclists.
The Local Capital Improvement grant program distributes formula-based funds to municipalities for eligible local capital improvement projects such as road, bridge or public building construction activities.
Schools, school districts, municipalities and non-profits may apply through their local Connecticut Council of Governments for up to $5,000 in funding for eligible active transportation related, non-infrastructure items. Funds have been used for bicycles, bicycle helmets, locks, lights, cycling instructor training, safety vests, or programs, and events and materials for pedestrian and bicycle safety education. The funding works perfectly with the state Safe Routes to School Program.
Applicants must apply through their local council of governments but more information is available here.
