New Haven Train Station

New Haven Union Station East Lot TOD Project

In 2024, CTDOT initiated an RFQ/RFP process for the New Haven Union Station East Lot Transit Oriented Development Project (TOD Project).  The TOD Project seeks to deliver a private, mixed-use development on the East Lot, a 1.77-acre state owned parcel located on the northernmost portion of the New Haven Union Station Campus, 50 Union Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut.

In 2025, CTDOT issued a RFP to four shortlisted Proposers, and in June 2025, CTDOT selected Gilbane/Mural as the preferred TOD Project developer.

As of April 2026, CTDOT is continuing to negotiate a project scope and schedule that meets CTDOT’s goals.  The project is expected to result in a minimum of 200 new housing units and 20,000 SF of retail space at the site under a long term Ground Lease.

Additional updates on this project will be posted to the webpage as information becomes available.
