Welcome to the webpage for Project No. 0174-0488, Installation of Centerline Rumble Strips on Route 63 (Litchfield Road) in Morris.

A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.

 

The project involves installing centerline rumble strips (CLRS) on Route 63 (Litchfield Road) from Route 109 (East Street/Thomaston Road) to the Morris/Litchfield town line. CLRS are a low-cost, proven safety countermeasure that alert drivers when they drift out of a lane, reducing head-on collisions and roadway departure crashes. Learn more about CLRS here. 

 

Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated.

  

Construction is expected to start in 2027, depending on funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is $8,500, with 100% State funds.
