Welcome to the webpage for Project No. 0172-0537 Installation of Centerline Rumble Strips on Route 196 (Skinner Street and Young Street) in East Hampton.
A virtual public informational meeting for the project was held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The recording of that event can be accessed at the CTDOT Virtual Public Information Meeting Video Library.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.
The project involves systemically installing centerline rumble strips (CLRS) to reduce the number of roadway departures and head-on crashes.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025. The estimated cost for this project is approximately $7,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 100% state funds. Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated with this project.
