Welcome to the webpage for Project No. 0142-0156 Replacement of Bridge No. 06975 Carrying Industrial Park Road East over Gages Brook in Tolland.
A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.
This project will address the deterioration of Bridge No. 06975 by designing a replacement structure that meets all current design standards and improves the safety of the crossing for all roadway users.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the project includes impacts on four abutting private properties, which will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, water handling, and an easement to install guiderail. All other construction will occur on town-owned property.
Construction is expected to start spring 2027 depending on funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is $2 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
