Project 0111-0128 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Project No. 0111-0128, the Replacement of Bridge No. 06991 Carrying Day Road over Wappoquia Brook in Pomfret.

A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions.

The purpose of this replacement is to remove the current weight restriction and scour that has occurred over time, offering users a safer passage across the brook.

Maintenance and protection of traffic will be accomplished with a 2.6-mile detour.

Right-of-way impacts are anticipated to include partial takes, slope easements, temporary construction easements, guiderail end anchorage easements, and a drainage right-of-way easement.

Construction is expected to start spring 2029 based on the availability of funding, right-of-way acquisitions, and permit acquisitions. The estimated construction cost is $3 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
